A foundation stone for the construction of a rallying centre and lecture hall at the College of Education, Afaha Nsit by the Alumni Association of the college has been laid in the institution.
Addressing the management staff of the college during the groundbreaking the President of the Alumni Association, Elder Edet Okpo hinted that the envisaged architectural rally centre will be constructed to meet the modern demands, with state-of-the-art facilities that will serve several purposes including conferences, seminars and lectures.
According to Elder Okpo, the decision of the Alumni Exco to name the planned edifice after the Provost of the College, Dr. Patrick Uko was to further appreciate his sincere and patriotic commitment to the holistic development of the college.

He noted that the Alumni Association under his administration has appreciated the moves by the authorities of the institution to affiliate the College with the University of Uyo, for the purposes of awarding degrees in designated programmes.

Earlier in his remarks, the Provost, College of Education Afaha Nsit, Dr. Patrick Uko expressed gratitude to the Alumni Association of the College for its immense contribution to the development of their alma mater.

He lauded the partnership between the Alumni Executive members and the Management of the College in the development of the College.

Dr. Uko, said the College now serve as a centre for national conferences, seminars and workshops in view of its infrastructural ambience.
