A new technical adviser has been unveiled for Akwa United football club.

He is Morris Coreman from Belgium.

Presenting the Technical Adviser to sports writers in Uyo today the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Sir Monday Uko said Coreman was contracted to shore up Akwa United based on his antecedents in Nigeria football.

Sir Uko maintained that with the completion of the contract of the erstwhile Coach, Zacarry Baraje, the technical crew had been repositioned with coach Abasiakan Windy and Dokubo Daboere as assistants to Moris Coreman.

While using the opportunity to re-stress the support of the Udom administration to sports development, the Commissioner said one of the ten sporting centers in the state will be due for commissioning at West Itam Secondary School soon.

He urged Akwa United fans to support the new technical adviser to achieve success with the team.

The member representing Onna State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom House of Assembly and Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Assembly, Otuekong Nse Essien expressed the support of Mr. Speaker, Elder Aniekan Uko and the members of the house for decisions that are aimed at enhancing the sporting image of the state and challenged the new technical adviser to make Akwa United a force on the African continent.

The Chairman of Akwa United football club, Akparawa Nse Ubeh assured the state of the preparedness of the club for continental duties, noting that the NFF had given full cooperation to scale all administrative hurdles and requirements of CAF.

Akparawah Ube disclosed that twenty-five player have been retained to enable the new technical adviser prune to eighteen and bring in additional seven top class players to beef up the team.

The new technical adviser, Morris Coreman said with his 16 years experience in Nigerian football, coupled with his penchant for discipline and hard work, there was no reason why Akwa United won’t win the confederation Cup.

The Permanent Secretary, in the Ministry, Mr. Nse Edem called for Unity among the people to ensure Akwa United’s success.
