The Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Barrister Ime Okon, stated that during an interaction with reporters in the House of Assembly.
Barrister Okon, who represents the Ibiono Ibom State Constituency in the House, said already the House has taken great strides such as the inauguration of the 6th Assembly, adding that so far, the House has cleared the Governor’s nominees for appointment as Commissioners and Special Advisers, thus enabling the executive arm to have a smooth take-off.

He said the House has approved the constitution of Transition Committees for Akwa Ibom Local Governments in line with the Local Government Administration Law.
Other efforts of the 6th Assembly, according to him include approval for the Governor to restructure the Commercial Bank Loans of Akwa Ibom State into Federal Government Bonds to allow for fiscal re-engineering for the successful implementation of government development agenda as well as approval for the executive to take a facility of N10 billion from the Excess Crude Account backed loan arrangement.
