Governor Udom Emmanuel has called for diversifications of the economic from crude oil to Agriculture to enable Nigeria survive its dwindling economy.
Mr. Udom Emmanuel made the call in an interview at the Ibom International Airport.
Governor Udom Emmanuel said the way out of the dwindling economy is a turn around from dependency on crude oil to the age long abandoned means of livelihood-agriculture.
Mr. Udom Emmanuel who adjudged Nigeria to have been very lucky to have crude oil and solid minerals said going back to agriculture would actually save the country while creating jobs for its citizenry.
Commenting on the state’s growing number of investors, the Governor said a state’s economy can only remain alive, if it is private sector driven, adding that it is not the place of government to undertake business but to create conducive environment for the private sector to do well.
Stressing that investors have found the state a fertile ground for the success of their business, Mr. Udom Emmanuel reiterated his commitment to create enabling environment for investors to establish businesses in the state adding that such would ensure speedy development of the state.
