Members of the public misinterpret State Government motive in cancellation of the recruitment of the 5000 Teachers Conducted in 2015

The attention of the State Government has been drawn to the misinterpretation by some members of the public especially, the affected persons on the recent cancellation of the recruitment of the Five Thousand Teachers Conducted in 2015 by the State Secondary Education Board due to observed irregularities in the selection process, forged credentials, certificates and other forms of malpractices.
To this end, the Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Ekereobong Akpan, has made further make clarification on the issue.
Mrs. Akpan stated that Government action was necessitated by its sincere concern and commitment to standard and well being of the education sector in the state;
That the same ‘teachers’ affected by the cancellation shall be given opportunity to defend their qualifications, prove their suitability and ability for the teaching job in the fool-proof process of another round of test to be put in place very soon.
During the exercise, the affected persons will be expected to supply all their personal details and data/document earlier submitted in the previous recruitment exercise including original copies of academic certificates from their First School Leaving Certificate to the highest qualification and certificate of origin for verification.
It is also instructive to note that all the affected 5000 persons will only be admitted “during the screening exercise on presentation of the original copy of the appointment letters and all those who have the required qualifications will be appointed.
Government hereby advises all the affected persons and the entire Akwa Ibom people to continue to keep faith with the State Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, and support his efforts at re-positioning the educational system.
