As part of a nationwide Malaria eradication effort, National Youth Service Corps members serving in Uyo Zone recently mobilized for the second edition of a sensitization programme tagged “Kick-out Malaria”.
The Corps members converged on the Uyo Zonal Office, number 1-4-5 Ikot Ekpene Road, Uyo, for the exercise.
The event which featured free Malaria Test and distribution anti-malaria drugs also featured lectures on methods of controlling the spread of malaria which include clean environment, and proper use of mosquito nets.
The NYSC state coordinator lady Ngozi Nkiruka chukwuka, represented by Assistant Director Inspection and Management, Mrs Janet Okpongete appreciated the Corps members for initiating the programme.
Lady Chukwuka advised Corps members to continue to serve their Father-land with diligence and shun acts that violate the NYSC guide lines.
The Uyo zonal coordinator of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, represented by Mr. Hassan Gabon spoke on the need for Corps members to be security conscious.
He said corps members should promptly report fraudulent activities and suspicious movements to the authorities.
