State government to intensify effort to reduce HIV/Aids prevalence

Apparently worried over the ten-point-eight per cent prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the state which places Akwa Ibom second highest in the country, the state government has vowed to leave no stone unturned to ensure the reduction of this prevalence.
In a keynote address at the Akwa Ibom HIV/AIDS Summit in Uyo, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, described the figure as unacceptable.
Etieno Ibanga attended the Summit and filed in this report.
