The Chairman of the State Civil Service Monitoring Committee, Mrs. Eno Offiong has again called on workers in the employ of the government to exhibit greater commitment to duty to reciprocate government’s gesture towards their welfare.
Mrs. Offiong was speaking after leading members of the Monitoring Committee to visit the Ministries of Health, Finance and the State Universal Basic Education Board.
Mrs. Offiong who is the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Civil Service commended the State Governor Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel for ensuring prompt and regular payment of salaries despite the serious economic down turn facing the country.
A member of the committee and Permanent Secretary, State Budget Office, Pastor Nicholas Ekarika also appealed to workers to be more diligent and selfless in their service to the state.
The Permanent Secretary, Department of Establishment, Mrs. Stella Etukakpan, appealed to workers to always keep their work environments tidy.
While commending the Ministry of Finance for keeping its offices and surroundings clean, Mrs Etokakpan frowned at the poor condition, poor hygienic condition of the Civil Service Canteen located within the secretariat.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Emette Imuk said she was encouraged by the committee’s visit, and pledged to continue to maintain high sanitary conditions as well as motivate staff of the Ministry to always put in their utmost while at work.
