The Ministry of Defense M-O-D in conjunction with Military Pensions Board M-P-B has scheduled a general verification exercise for existing Military Pensioners on the pay roll

The Ministry of Defense M-O-D in conjunction with Military Pensions Board M-P-B has scheduled a general verification exercise for existing Military Pensioners on the pay roll from tomorrow Tuesday 6th to Tuesday 20th October, 2015.

The purpose is to ascertain the existing pensioners on the current pension pay roll and update their biometric records accordingly.

A government statement in Uyo indicates that during the exercise, pensioners will also be registered for the National Health Insurance Scheme N-H-I-S by the Defence Health Maintenance Limited D-H-M-L.

The verification exercise will be carried out at designated centers across the country.

For Armed Forces from Akwa Ibom State, the exercise will be carried out at Ibawa Barracks, Abak, on designated dates for each rank and only those on pay roll will be verified.

According to the statement, Retired Officers are to present their Record of Service, Retired Officers Identity Card, Pension Advice, Drivers License, or National ID Card or Permanent Voters Card or International Passport.

Other documents to be presented are; Passport Photograph and Birth Certificate of Biological dependants under 18 years of age.

For Discharged Soldiers/Ratings and Airmen, they are to present Discharged Certificate, Service Discharged ID Card, Pension Advice, Drivers License or National ID Card or Permanent Voters Card or International Passport, Passport Photograph and Birth Certificate of biological dependants under 18 years of age.

Those who are Medically Boarded Soldiers/Rating/Airman will present Discharged Certificate, Drivers License, or National ID Card or Permanent Voters Card or International Passport, Passport Photograph and Birth Certificate of biological dependants less than 18 years of age.

Spouses of Deceased Retired Personnel are to present Letters of Condolence from the last unit of the deceased, Marriage Certificate or evidence of marriage from court, church or mosque, Death Certificate, Letter of Identification of Next of Kin, Drivers license or National ID Card or Permanent Voters Card or International Passport, Passport photograph and Birth Certificate of Biological dependants under 18 years of age.

Accordingly, Armed Forces in Akwa Ibom State are requested to go to Ibawa Barracks, on the date designated against their ranks for the verification exercise without fail.
