The World celebrates International Day for the Remembrance of Slave Trade and its Abolition

23rd August is usually marked by the United Nations as the International Day for the Remembrance of Slave Trade and its Abolition.
The day is also to highlight of the consequent associated with slave trading, remind the International Community of the importance of freedom and to pay tribute to those who worked hard towards the abolition of slave trade.
As the World marks the day, Eyakeno Paul takes a look at the consequence of slave trade on Africans mentality and what is now referred to as “modern Slavery”.
