They are Professor Godfrey Udo who has been appointed the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration and Professor Inyang Udofot, Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic.
A release signed by the Registrar and Secretary to University Governing Council, Mr. AniediAbasi Udofia indicates that the appointments which is for two years, took effect from January 1, 2017.
According to the release, the Pro-chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Uyo, Professor Kimse Okoko approved the appointments at 104th Meeting of the institution’s Senate held on 21st December 2016.
The new Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Godfrey Udo is a professor of Estate Management with over thirty-five years in Public Service.
He has born in 1955 at Ikot Idaha, in Ibiono Local Government Area.
Professor Godfrey Udo holds a PH.D and an MSc in Estate Management from the University of Nigeria, Nsuka, a BSc in Urban Estate Surveying of Nottingham Trent University, England in 1980 as well as a Diploma in Estate Management of the then College of Technology Calabar in 1975.
Prof. Udo who until his new appointment was the Dean of the Postgraduate School and Chairman of the Committee of Deans joined the University of Uyo in 2008.
He contributed to the growth of the University through the various positions of responsibility he has held, including Head of Department Estate Management and Dean Faculty of Environmental Studies.
Meanwhile, the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Professor Inyang Udofot was born in 1950, in Ikot Esenam, Oruk Anam Local Government Area.
She obtained the N-C-E in English and French in 1976 at the then College of Education, Uyo, obtained a Bachelor of Education in 1981 from University of Benin, a Masters Degree in English from the then University of Cross River State in 1992 and a Doctorate in English 1997.
The Professor of English had served the University of Uyo as Dean Faculty of Arts, member Departmental appointments and promotions committee, Committee to review conduct of Examinations and member, University of Uyo Governing Council.
Professor Udofot has impacted on Scholars and students and her environment through her research and public activities.
She holds the membership of several professional bodies.
