Works Commissioner restates governments resolve to construct roads in all Local Government Areas

The Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen has stated the present administration’s determination to spread dividends of democracy to every nook and cranny of the state.
Mr. Inyang-Eyen who stated this while fielding questions on AKBC TV Live Programme “Unveiling the mandate” also stated the resolve of the government to provide good road network in every local government area of the state.
He explained that in barely three months, the present administration has executed over eighteen road projects in the state.
The Commissioner listed Mkpat Enin, Onna, Ibiono Ibom, Oron, Obot-Akara, Uruan, Uyo, Etinan, Eket, Oruk Anam and other local government areas as beneficiaries of the on-going road construction and dualization.
Describing Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration as people centred, Mr. Inyang-Eyen pointed out that on-going road projects across the state were those requested by the communities during the governorship campaign.
The Commissioner said the Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Federal Road on completion will be linked to Abia State to further open up the state for major economic growth.
He said the Ministry of Works has made provision for roads within local government areas in 2016 Budget and expressed the belief that when passed, there will be interventions on road construction at the grassroots.
The Commissioner said the Ministry will strictly supervise road project to ensure they meet specification and standard.
Commissioner Inyang-Eyen called for total support for the Udom administration in his avowed commitment to attracting development to the state.
